Unexpected Mesh from HoWear!!! What a TREAT!

As some of you might know, I have been a huge fan of HoWear for quite a while. Ever since a friend introduced me to Heidi's  $25L weekday outfits I've been hooked! Her dark, gothic but suggestively sexy style appealed to me.  The fact she almost never uses templates made by someone else, dragged me out of the cookie-cutter shops and introduced me to a whole new world of couture and designer shops in Second Life.

After months of vowing to not torture her devoted clients/customers with mesh that didn't fit their very customized avatar shapes this week she released two mesh outfits.
One "Mystic of Dread" - what looks to be a Disney inspired "Evil Queen" gown. Smooth and Satin-y and textured to stretch without distorting. A high color, staff and comic crow complete this outfit.

I know, you hate to be teased and I can understand that but...

There have been some amazing hunts out there and I've been super busy gathering, sorting, organizing and photographing these finds just for you.
(And my inventory now hates me)

Honestly I have been really surprised at the quality of hunt gifts lately. Some merchants have really gone out of their way to make sure their name is recognized and with good reason! There's some real talent out there lately and those of us who love to hunt are rewarded with great stuff that only makes us want more! It's that "I want more!" attitude these talented designers are banking on!
Our job as Bloggers is to help them get their names and the visual appeal of their wares out to you, the consumers.

Officially, it's still summer...for a few more days anyway.

Riding the Mesh Wave!

Oh yes, I was one of those who hated mesh when it first came out. Why? Because it never seemed to fit my avi and I was so reluctant to adjust my shape to fit my clothes, I expected (from my prim experiences) for my clothes to always fit perfectly.  Until...
The first time I tried on a mesh piece and saw how fluidly it moved with my body, never contorting like standard prim-wear did. That's when I thought, "Ok, a little adjusting can't hurt."
I still have trouble with the idea that I now have nearly as many shapes saved as I do mesh pieces owned. Even though they say they all use "standard body types" we all know one sculptor's idea of "standard" is going to be different from the next. So, once you get that through your head and realize yes, you really will be adjusting your shame a LOT more often...mesh is really fantastic!

As I said, I've become a total convert. The styles and shapes of clothing has really been revolutionized with the advent of mesh. Couture has been taking to much greater heights as well as the bar being raised for the "ordinary."

In that today I have for you a really cute matching.  It's a pair of mesh body shorts by Dirim I found I simply couldn't do without while I was visiting the Vintage Fair and an adorable cropped mesh top from what looks to be a new designer for "Rare Wave." Paired up it makes for the cutest vintage separates for those still slightly warm Autumn days.

Above is a pic of the wonderful Tattoos by: The Stringer Mausoleum. These "Love" tattoos are a part of the "To Write Love on Her Arms" campaign to bring awareness about Depression and Suicide Prevention. November 13th has been declared "To Write Love on Her Arms" day. I will be wearing them proudly to show my support for this very important campaign as I, myself suffer from depression. It's not something people can "just get over." For many we actually inherited it from our parents. It's part of our genetic make-up but it's something that can be treated and awareness needs to be brought out of the darkness. Too many amazingly talented and fantastic individuals are lost to this pernicious ailment. It's a constant struggle for so many. If there's only one gift from this entire hunt you pick up, I strongly suggest this one. Please help Evangeline and I promote awareness of this disease, let's not keep depression in the shadows.

I've created a flickr group to go along with this blog so you can see and find all the new, hot, cute, can't do without, fashions, group gifts and hunt gifts we crave in Second Life!

We all love the fashions in Second life, we all crave to have the hot new release. Some of us are crazy about mesh, some not so enthusiastic. That's ok! Not all of it fits every one of our avi's. We can discuss this, show it off and hopefully help others to put their best avi-foot forward!
